Fashion designer Mehakk Jain recently debuted at London Fashion Week with a fairytale-like collection. This ethereal show showcased her latest collection, “Enchantment,” a dreamlike exploration of aesthetics that seamlessly blends fantasy and nature with fashion.
Inspired by fairytale gardens, shimmering flowers, and delicate textures, this collection exudes a whimsical and captivating charm. Gradient fabrics and exquisite hand-beaded embroidery imbue the designs with vibrant colors. The collection includes fitted jackets, shirts, miniskirts, and romantic corsets—all pieces brimming with youthful energy and embodying the philosophy of sustainable luxury.
Mehakk uses fabrics such as silk organza and chandrila in its designs, and also employs natural dyeing methods using sappanwood and madder, adhering to the brand’s philosophy of eco-friendly craftsmanship. These garments exude feminine grace and elegance.
”This collection expresses my love of fairy tales and is an ode to the world of fantasy. It transforms the magical atmosphere of a fairy tale into romantic silhouettes, floral embroidery, and gradient colors,” she shared.
”The fairytale aesthetic combines elements of fantasy and nature. I translate this inspiration into textiles through embroidery, color, and silhouette—flowing skirts, lightweight jackets, and structured corsets that are simultaneously romantic and powerful, elegant as a fairy,” she explained.
The collection features glass beads, which, thanks to their reflective properties, lend a shimmering glow to clothing. “All of these glass beads are meticulously hand-embroidered. Their soft sheen and three-dimensional texture instantly transform even simple floral patterns, adding a touch of magic to any silhouette,” she said.
The designer carefully selected lightweight, flowing fabrics, such as silk organza and silk chandelier, to create garments that combine structure and elegance. Silk organza, in particular, creates a light and graceful effect, like fairy wings.
”Every piece is unique, and even the simplest outfit can be instantly transformed into something original. Each ensemble is carefully curated, and elements can be interchanged while maintaining overall harmony,” she added.
